“The Sweet Life Cafe extraordinary fare and outstanding service: We had made a reservation and are so glad we had dinner here before they closed for the season. It was a beautifully prepared meal that we truly savored and are still talking about. Delicious oysters on the half shell started our leisurely dinner.

What started as a summer romance between a chef and a waitress turned into marriage, parenthood and now business ownership for Erin and Hal Ryerson. After living in Nicaragua, New York City, Cambridge and Boston, Erin and Hal are happily back where it all began on Martha’s Vineyard.  The Sweet Life has been a Martha’s Vineyard dining institution since the late 1990’s and the Ryersons are thrilled to be at the helm for it’s next incarnation.

If you’ve had all the chowder & lobster you to cross that off your list and are yearning for a more sophisticated menu where the servers can tell you about everything, come to Sweet Life. This groups takes food seriously.

From first drink to last taste of desert, it is sweet all the way.

Wine selection is good, prices from moderate to higher. There are some good French wines and an excellent Argentine Malbec.

Pastas are hand made. We also liked the mushroom risotto. Chocolate fudge cake was a winner. We had good service under delightful outdoor tent in mild-cool weather of a Martha’s Vineyard evening.

What Instagram says

This is the second time I have eaten here this summer. Both times the food was excellent. The service tonight was even better than the first visit and the weather was lovely enough to sit outside. The wine and drink selection is perfect.
