Tip 1:

If you want to make smoothies regularly, it’s a great idea to stash some fruit in the freezer. Not only will they retain their nutritional value and flavor, they will instantly chill your smoothie, so there’s no need to add ice.

Add a spoonful of cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg or vanilla before you start blending. It will give your smoothie some texture. Sprinkle in some flaxseeds, or toasted almonds to give it an extra boost.

If you decide to have a smoothie for breakfast or lunch, make it a heartier meal by adding protein. A spoonful of protein powder, peanut butter, or even tofu will blend well with your smoothie. It will give you an essential protein boost for the day.

Load the container in the following order: liquids first, then soft fruits or vegetables, greens, and ice on top.

An alternative, add ice cream, frozen yogurt, or vanilla yogurt for more creaminess. Remember smoothies need a good blend of liquid and solid ingredients to achieve just the right texture.

Add a little extra power to the flavor of your smoothie. A tablespoon of tasty cocoa powder, a few drops of vanilla or almond extract. Also add some spice to you drink such as ginger, cinnamon or nutmeg. Another flavor boost is fresh herbs, like mint or basil, or a touch of lemon or lime juice can brighten it.

  1. I do like the manner in which you have framed this particular matter and it does indeed give me some fodder for consideration. However, from just what I have experienced, I simply just hope when other opinions pile on that people stay on point and in no way start on a tirade regarding the news of the day. Yet, thank you for this outstanding piece and while I can not really agree with this in totality, I value the perspective.
